Who builds this

Cancel Desk is built and operated by Klair Technology Solutions Private Limited (Klair Labs), a company in Hyderabad, India, run by its founder, Sandeep Kavety. It launched on 26 August 2026.

Why it exists

Retention tooling is priced for enterprises. The established products in this category are sold as annual contracts with a sales call attached, at prices that assume a retention team on the other end. A small subscription business — the one where the founder reads every cancellation email personally — gets nothing self-serve: no way to learn why customers leave, no clean way to offer a pause instead of losing them, without booking a demo and signing for a year.

Cancel Desk is the tier below that: a hosted cancel flow you can put behind your own "Cancel subscription" button in an afternoon. It asks the reason, makes one offer if you've configured one, and always lets the customer finish. Free to start, priced on the page, cancellable monthly — the way we'd want to buy it ourselves.

One person, on purpose — and honestly

Klair Labs is one person. That's not a "small but mighty team" euphemism; it is the whole org chart. It works because Cancel Desk is deliberately narrow — one flow, one job — and runs on AWS-managed serverless infrastructure that doesn't need someone watching a dashboard at 3am. What one person cannot credibly offer is also written down rather than papered over: see the "what we have not done yet" list on the security page and the monitoring note on the status page. You should weigh the solo-operator trade-off when you rely on any small product, this one included.

Where the incentives sit

Cancel Desk is a paid product. No ads, no data resale, no "free because you're the product" — revenue is Pro and Premium subscriptions, which means the incentive is to be worth paying for, nothing subtler. And the product's central design rule — the flow never blocks a cancellation — is aligned with that, not in tension with it: what you're paying for is the reason data and the genuinely-saved customers, not friction. A cancel flow that traps people produces angry ex-customers and regulatory risk for the merchant; one that lets people go cleanly produces the thing that's actually valuable — an honest answer to "why did they leave?"
